Wyn Stark Timeless Talent

The real beauty of art lies within its immortality. It can last forever. Especially with this century’s technological advances, the internet allows no limit on art’s longevity. The aim of producing timeless music is the core driving force for Nashville-based modern-day genre-bender Wyn Starks

Since his America’s Got Talent audition, Wyn Starks has jump-started a grandiose introduction. His performance of the original ‘Who I Am’ had the nation in tears, including the judge and actress Sofia Vergara. What sent everyone over the edge was Sparks’ heartfelt tribute to his late twin brother, he dedicated the performance to. Before even showcasing what he’s capable of, Wyn Starks’ aura had everyone hoping he would be great; even Simon Cowell said: “I hope he’s good.”

Standing on a stage in front of a live audience and millions watching on their TVs, one might get startled, but not Wyn Starks. He was confident and comfortable, claiming his rightful stardom. Once he started singing, there was no doubt Wyn Starks would be standing on more stages in his lifetime.

Growing up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Wyn Starks and his twin brother were raised by a single mom. From a young age, attending church and witnessing some of the best vocalists, Sparks started connecting emotion with music.

After years of trying to fit in, Wyn Starks is done with complying with other people’s expectations but elaborates on his past struggles: “I just felt rejected many times. So, as a result, I kind of grew up with all these insecurities. I didn’t really know who I was. I became something to fit in—to fit into society, to fit into what people expected of me.”

Today, Wyn Starks is proud to celebrate his own diversity with 2021’s ‘Black Is Golden,’ a debut album centred around the singer’s versatile vocals, timely messages, and bold willingness to break new ground. On ‘Black Is Golden,’ Starks narrates the tales of his upbringing and exhibits new innovative sounds he’s come to love upon relocating to Nashville.

“Nashville opened me up to this new world of music the way I wanted to do it, not the way everybody else wanted me to. Other people often have this vision for you, and their ideas just don’t fit,” Starks offers. “For a long time, I was living for other people—to make people happy—but coming to Nashville really helped me get into my groove and learn who I am, what I like, and what I love. It even helped me learn to love myself.”

However, it wasn’t until the loss of his hospitality job during Covid that encouraged Wyn Starks put all his focus into making music and getting the recognition he deserves. His performance of ‘Who I Am’ is a token of his perseverance, confidence, and authenticity.

Driven by pure passion, Wyn Starks creates to inspire others and push forward more topics of inclusivity and acceptance: “Love, for me, is the foundation,” Starks affirms. “I know that sounds really cheesy because many people probably say that, but that’s true for me. I just want that to be the thing—love, acceptance, inclusion”.

“I guess I’m just telling my story in a sense. I’m just writing what feels good because I feel good right now. I’m in a good place—mentally and emotionally. I feel like I know who I am more than I ever have before,” Starks continues. “I’m glad I’ve finally come into myself, and I can be like, This is who I am. I love me.”

Wyn Starks is at the beginning of an impeccable career with the timeless sound and higher purpose of helping others find their true identity. ‘Who I Am‘ is out now on all streaming platforms.
