With vibrant performances from new and veteran artists, along with heartwarming tributes to some of pop culture’s most loved icons, the 62nd annual Grammy Awards was a success. Here are some of the most memorable moments from the nights’ ceremony.
Billie Eilish wins best new artist
New music sensation Billie Eilish won the Grammy for the best new artist, once again the category was packed with some serious talent. In the category, Billie competed against Lizzo, Lil Nas X, Black Pumas, Maggie Rogers, Rosalía, Tank, and the Bangas, and Yola. Billy first made waves in 2016 with her Soundcloud release “Ocean Eyes”, but 2019 was the year the 18-year-old artist crossed over to the mainstream. Her album “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” was released in March 2019 and simultaneously debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and the UK Albums Chart. This record-breaking achievement made her the first artist born in the 2000s to have a No. 1 album in the United States and the youngest female ever to have a No. 1 album in the United Kingdom.
Throughout the night Elish also took home Grammys for best song for her track “bad guy,” record of the year, best pop vocal album and album of the year.
Alicia Keys, Boyz II Men honor Kobe Bryant

“Here we are together, on music’s biggest night, celebrating the artists that do it best, but to be honest with you, we’re all feeling crazy sadness right now,” She said. “Because earlier today, Los Angeles, America and the whole wide world lost a hero.” Alicia was joined by Boyz II Men, sang “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye.”
