INTERVIEW: Electro-Pop Sensation LUNA Talks Upcoming Album ‘No Rest’

LUNA is becoming a one-to-watch name in pop, from representing Poland in Eurovision earlier this year to making a striking impression with her evocative, thought-provoking songwriting. We spoke to the captivating artist about her upcoming album, ‘No Rest,’ drawing inspiration from Kate Bush and what to expect from her next single, ‘Personal Torture’…

Hi Luna, congrats on your latest single ‘Wild West’. How does it feel to release the lead single of your forthcoming sophomore album?

Thank you so much! Releasing “Wild West” feels incredible—there’s always excitement (and a little nervousness!) in sharing new music, especially when it sets the tone for the whole album. This track represents so much of what’s been on my mind and heart, so I’m thrilled to finally share it and see how listeners connect with it.

In your own words, how would you describe the sound of ‘Wild West?’

I’d say it’s intense, gritty, and full of energy. “Wild West” brings together driving beats and haunting melodies that capture a bit of that wild, uncharted feeling.

What does the track mean to you personally?

Personally, “Wild West” is a reminder to embrace life’s challenges and uncertainties with resilience. It’s my way of processing the ups and downs of chasing dreams and navigating the unknown—it’s an anthem for anyone who feels like they’re out there carving their own path.

Following in the footsteps of your critically acclaimed debut album, what emotions have come with working on your second full-length release?

In many ways, this album feels like a debut for me, since it’s my first one in English. That shift made it feel deeply personal—I’m expressing myself in a way that’s both new and vulnerable. There’s excitement in reaching a wider audience, but also a bit of nervousness, like I’m opening up in a different way. It’s been an incredible journey, and I hope listeners feel that rawness and authenticity in every track.

Have you honed in on your distinctive sound or do you hope to keep exploring?

I think I’ve found a core sound that feels true to me, but I’m always open to exploring and experimenting. Music is such a fluid art, and I want each project to bring something fresh, so I’m definitely still pushing boundaries and letting new influences in.

Who are your main musical influences?

I’m really inspired by artists like Björk, Nick Cave, and Kate Bush—they all have such distinctive voices and aren’t afraid to explore deep, sometimes dark emotions. Their authenticity and willingness to take risks inspire me to do the same in my own music.

What has been the highlight of your career so far?

Representing Poland at Eurovision was absolutely unforgettable. Standing on that stage, feeling the energy of such a huge audience, was surreal. It really solidified my desire to connect with people through music on a bigger scale.

Besides music, do you have any other passions?

Yes, so many! I actually have ADHD, so my interests are always expanding—I love exploring new things and finding passion in so many areas. Art, fashion, and cinematography are big influences for me, and I love incorporating them into my music. Astrology and spirituality also play a big role in how I express myself creatively. It’s all connected in the way I approach my music and creativity.

You have a background in piano, violin, and singing – are there any other instruments or musical techniques you’d love to learn?

Absolutely! I’d love to learn to play the guitar or the harp. The guitar would bring a new texture to my songwriting, and the harp has such an ethereal, beautiful sound that I think could add a really unique vibe to my music. Both instruments would let me explore new styles and bring different emotions into my work.

What was the best part about working on ‘Wild West?’

Honestly, recording the vocals was the highlight for me. I felt like I could be completely real, present, and raw with my emotions in a way that felt almost therapeutic. Being in the studio, capturing those feelings in the moment—it was incredibly freeing and powerful.

Can you tease what to expect from your next single, ‘Personal Torture’, which hits the airwaves on November 22nd?

Absolutely! The next single is going to be a pop song with a beat that people can really move to. It’s something listeners can dance to, to almost “dance their tortures out” and let go of whatever’s weighing on them. I wanted to create something uplifting but with depth—something that feels like release and celebration at the same time.
