With ‘Felt Love’ being your debut single and already generating buzz, how does it feel to receive such immediate attention, and what do you hope this initial response will mean for your future as an artist?
The response I have received for “Felt Love’ has been incredible! I have been overwhelmed by the whole process, especially getting featured on Love Island. Hearing the incredible responses from so many people in so many different countries has definitely helped my confidence regarding the release of my future singles! I’m learning to be a better writer, vocalist and artist every day so I know it can only go up from here and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
The visualiser for ‘Felt Love’ was filmed in New York – do you think this iconic setting plays an important role in delivering the song’s message and sound?
Filming the visualiser for ‘’Felt Love’ in New York was an incredible experience. The city’s energy is honestly like no other—it’s fast-paced, vibrant, and full of life, which I think really mirrors the overall vibe of the track. Being surrounded by iconic landmarks and the buzzing streets gave the shoot this raw, fun and edgy feel that felt right for the song’s uplifting and energetic sound. The city lights, and the buzz of Times Square was the perfect backdrop to emphasise the excitement and rush of emotions that the track is all about. It was a dream to bring that energy to life in such a legendary city!
Can you share any memorable moments from the filming process?
The whole filming process of the “Felt Love” visualiser was so so fun! Just exploring the city and singing my song in front of so many strangers walking past felt unusually thrilling! The New Yorkers must have thought I was nuts! Between each of the locations that we were shooting in, we always stopped for a coffee and these little moments of downtime were great to just connect with my team and have a laugh.
How has your background in musical theatre influenced your approach to performance and songwriting in the pop genre?
My degree in Musical Theatre has helped me in so many ways! I trained in acting, singing and dancing, all of which have helped me so much regarding my stage presence when performing live. Musical Theatre vocal training is intense… the power and range that I have gained allows me to be able to do so much more in and out of the studio than before! I also think having the ability to act and dance makes my stage presence so much more interesting and engaging for audiences, allowing me to achieve a high level performance.
How do you balance your music’s mainstream appeal with your authentic fusion of sounds and emotive lyrics?
I think naturally you can create your own unique sound just from taking inspiration from so many different genres that all work in the pop music! The art is in creating something new and exciting that also sounds current and relevant. I continue to listen to the trending tracks and sounds, and reference these a lot when I am writing and working with producers – but adding your own twist is the exciting part!
You’ve described ‘Felt Love’ as capturing the energy of club dancing and new romance. How do you hope to translate those feelings into your live performances?
I honestly cannot wait to perform “Felt Love” live! I think the energy of the song carries itself, and being a super hyperactive individual, I know that I can project this on a stage by hyping up the crowds whilst dancing around and having the time of my life. I believe the energy you give off is often the energy you receive back!
As someone who loves to dance and has a passion for performance, which artists are currently influencing you? Have you attended any live performances recently that have inspired you?
I love Doja Cat and Tate McRae’s performances! As artists they project the stories of their songs so well through their facial expressions and movements! I can’t wait to bring my own energy and style to the stage!
Can UK fans expect any upcoming live shows?
I am hoping to get some more releases out as soon as possible, and once I have enough of a set to take to the stage, I will be there. Keep your eyes peeled!
With your recent success, where do you see yourself in the next few years? What are your artistic goals, and how do you plan to continue evolving your sound and reaching new audiences?
I have a few long-term goals I would love to achieve! I would love to perform at some of the massive UK festivals, and also appear on a BBC live lounge session. Making the UK official charts is definitely the most important for me currently! I am still learning every single day on how to be a better vocalist, performer and artist, so I can’t wait to see how far I have come in a few years time.
