SINGLE: Maddox Jones Releases Nostalgic New Single ‘One Minute’

Ahead of his upcoming album this Autumn, Northampton singer-songwriter Maddox Jones is kicking off the season with the nostalgic ‘One Minute.’ Co-written alongside Angus Parkin, the new single revives his indie-rock origins, encouraging listeners to live in the moment. Influenced by a time spent reminiscing on old photographs and memories, Jones has poured his poignant reflections into an upbeat, bass-driven bop combined with an infectious chorus.

‘One Minute’ retains Jones’ flair for anthemic hooks, fusing his meaningful lyrics with sharp instrumentation to create one uplifting track anyone can relate to. The track’s funky essence is indisputable as his captivating vocals dance over a pulsating rhythm, enhanced by polished modern production and flourishes of sugary-sweet synths. The result is familiar yet unique and fresh, showcasing his renowned versatility.

The sonically satisfying track precedes his Euros 2024 hit, ‘England Together’, which raised money for mental health charity Head In The Game. The artist made several appearances on National TV, including Sky Sports and ITV News. Jones has garnered distinct acclaim throughout his career, ranging from his days fronting British rock band The Departure to reaching #4 in the iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart with his debut solo EP, ‘Headspace.’

Shedding light on the vibrant ‘One Minute’, Maddox Jones is now setting out on the next stage of his musical journey on tour with the legendary Will Young. Performing on several dates of the ‘Light It Up’ tour this October, the songwriter is poised to exclusively showcase tracks from his upcoming album.
