“Life With You” is described as an autobiographical album. Can you share some personal stories or experiences that inspired the songs on this album?
“Life with you” the title track off the album- is a love song that I co-wrote a few years ago about my now wife. After we got engaged she asked if it could be our first dance song for our wedding. Fast forward a year later it’s my first radio single! There will be 15 tracks on my album. I really wanted to take fans on a journey so there are a mix of love, life, party, and breakup songs.
How did it feel to see “Life With You” go viral so quickly after you teased it on social media? What was your reaction to the overwhelming response from fans?
It’s still crazy to think so many people have connected to this song. When it first started happening I thought it might just be a cool moment on TikTok but then it just kept growing with every video we posted. It has really changed my life in the last few months and it’s been exciting to ride this wave!
How did you explore different styles within the project?
Every song on the record is something that I’ve experienced at some point in my life. I’m a happily married guy now but have been the guy going through a breakup, or the guy partying with my buddy’s around a fire. I’ve also lived the small town life that I sing about.
You recently released, “Burn My Summer” which is noted as a summertime scorcher. Can you tell us more about the inspiration behind this track and what it means to you?
Burn my summer is one of the outside songs on the record that I didn’t co-write but loved so much. From the first time I heard it, I knew I wanted it on the album. It’s a song about summer love that’s burning hot and you don’t want it to end.
You’ve worked with some notable names in country music like Ryan Beaver, Kelley Lovelace, and Blake Bollinger on this album. How did these collaborations come about, and what was it like working with them?
Working with my producer Blake Bollinger has been great! He’s so easy going and open to all ideas and songs. It’s also been such an honor to work with the best songwriters in town throughout the last several years.
Blake Bollinger and Tommy Cecil contributed significantly to the production of “Life With You.” What was the production process like, and how did their expertise shape the final sound of the album?
I’ve learned so much from working with these producers in Nashville. Blake did a great job capturing what the song needed to be. We talked heavily about not wanting to over produce it and really let the lyric and vocals carry the song.
The title track, “Life With You,” was your real-life first-dance wedding song. How did that personal moment translate into a song that resonates with so many people?
I think because the lyric is very straight forward, the audience can connect with it from the first listen.
You’re set to make your Grand Ole Opry debut in June. How significant is this milestone for you, and what can fans expect from your performance?
This was by far one of the coolest phone calls I’ve ever received. I’m super thankful to be able to stand in the circle that so many legends have stood in before. Fans can definitely expect Life with you to be played! Haven’t decided yet what else were going to play that night, stay tuned.
Looking ahead, what are some of your goals or dreams for the future of your music career following the release of your debut album?
I’m most excited to get out there on the road and play music for the people. I’ve been writing for years so it will be so cool to hopefully hear folks sing these song back in person.
