Opelsings Releases New Song “W.Y.D”

An R&B singer songwriter of Jamaican heritage born in London UK but was raised in New Haven, CT where she honed her voice in a performing arts high school studying music theory. While in the HS choir she joined a girl group called Monje and they went on to win first place on BET’s Teen Summit Talent competition which broadcasted on national tv and became the youngest recipients at the time to be awarded the Duke Ellington award from the Yale School of Jazz music. This gained the attention of several record labels to which they sign a development deal.

They opened up for artists such as Immature and Changing Faces, worked with amazing producers Jodeci, The Clemmons brothers, Teddy Riley, Phil Weatherspoon, Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers to name a few.

After much success the ladies went their separate ways and Opel moved back to London to attend university and became a session singer/ backing vocalist for several artist. In 2019 she started to create her own music with the help of genius record producer Kardo Blonde she dropped her first solo debut “Be The One” which is a Caribbean influenced track paying homage to her West Indian background and created in honor of her friend Charkea P. Neal memory. “Sleep Alone” was the next single and “Looking For Love” was released on Renegade Soul Records in January 2021.

On her new single “WYD” Opelsings penned a clever track about the anticipation of seeing your special someone and delivers her sweet signature vocals and harmonies, truly blazing her own trail for the UK R&B music scene. Follow @Opelsings
